the need to unload

Hi. I'm thinking about taking this part of my blog life up again. I need a place to unload personal thoughts about nothing and everything, and I guess this is a good place for that. I will use it as a form of diary to keep track on everything and to get stuff out of my head.

At the moment, what fills up my life is

  1. school
  2. vacation planning
  3. business planning (I'm gonna make a separate post on this)

School: (Classical Archaeology)
At the university I'm currently on my 6th semester. I've completed 3 courses regarding different time periods of the greek and roman ancient world + I've completed the science theory course. Then I've started 3 different elective courses and finished none of them! I thought I had all this figured out (I do now though), but none of the courses i picked exited me enough to care about them.

the three where: "archaeology of mesopotamia", "complex societies", "business philosophy".
The first two seemed fitting for my main subject, but they where boring (imo)! The last course I took because I had an idea about getting into business consulting if the archaeology thing didn't work out.. again: BOOORING!!! So I never finished any of them.

It should be said here, that I'm not lazy, I just really care about having a good time every day of my life, and not  doing stuff I don't care about!

Now! I finally found the 3 elective courses I really want to follow. they're all part of a museology package, and museum is really the place for me. It has been my dream since I was 10 to work at the Glyptotek in Copenhagen.

the Glyptotek in Copenhagen, next to Tivoli
This semester then, is filled by Greek Prehistoric Studies and the first of the three museology courses: "Exhibition, ideas and materialization."

Vacation
I neeeeeed to go to some nice city with my fiancé!! We where thinking about Rome, Antalya in Turkey, Santorini (which is an ancient under water volcano!!) or Crete in Greece. I'm pretty sure we're just gonna pack our bags, and the go for a cancellation offer. I've seen some special offers including plane ticket, hotel - all inclusive, for around 4000kr. (700$) for 14 days!!! I can spend hours just looking around the internet for awesome places to go. I think we're gonna go some place in June maybe.

That's all for now! See you

last day in Denmark! for now ^^

I'm leaving tomorrow!!! OMG!!!!

I'm running around trying to get the last things in place for the big trip to Pompeii and Naples.

I still need to fix my work pants at the bottom so they will fit me, and I also have a pair of surfer shorts wich are a bit to big, so thats my next task for today.

this is my luggage so far ^^

My mom and her boyfriend have been SO supportive of this trip and helped me in any way possible. I have to pay for the trip and stay myself PLUS I won't get paid for the excavating work I'll be doing while I'm there - It is a bit frustrating. It's here I really appreciate my family, with their support, I can afford to have a good time and not think about the cost the whole trip <3

I'm bringning my curling iron and most of my makeup. On the other hand, I'm only bringing one pair of heels, and then I'm counting on finding me a cute pair of sandals when I get there.

I will make a travelblog over the trip, and I was actually counting on my travelmate, Toke, to bring his laptop, but since we are gonna be living in a tent for the next month, we decided that it was fairly unpractical having to look after it the whole trip.

Me and my man (pic from sakura festival 2011) <3

I'm gonna miss my BF soooo F'in much!!!

I'll just make my own!

So, I totally fell in love with the union jack print on clotheing, and I especially wanted an oversize shirt with that print, but I haven't been able to find any in Danish stores and neither on the internet stores.... SO! I made my own !

I bought a long jumper, I knew I had some white fabric paint and some red shiny paint, and here we go!

I drew the outline of the white with chalk on the shirt, and the I just painted it white. It needed a couple of coatings before the white got as I wanted it.

This had to dry for a bit, and then I ironed it before painting on the red. I was going for the "worn print" look, so the red is not a fabric paint. After the red had dryed, I washed it a couple of times, and it came out JUST as I wanted it!! YAY - I wear it all the time!!

I am very inspired by gyaru fashion, but will not jump 100% into it, since the entire environment around it seems very unattainable unless you intend to spend time and energy comparing yourself with all the other gaijin gals in the fierce gal community, and I'm not prepared for that. :)

Anywho, I've got another outfit that I wore on the last day of the semester ^^ And I will end my post here <3

Freedom!

the university on a summer day

I recently finished my examn for this summer. It was an assignment on archaeological theory. It was actually pretty interesting ^^ Oh well! I've only got two more weeks with only one lesson per week left, and then I'm done!! Next semester starts sometime in August XD YEAH!
Again this year, I'm a part of the introduction programme for the freshmen this summer, so I've still got som work to do besides the toyshop on saturdays.

A little summer outfit on a rainy day with some of my "new" old shoes
AAAND!!!! I'm going to Naples for 4 weeks to excavate in Pompeii!! I'm SO happy!!! I've just bought the plane tickets for me and my fellow student and friend Toke. We're doing a blog on the trip, so all our envious friends can keep track of us, and so we have something to do when we're of duty ^^ We'll only be working between 8:30-16:30 on weekdays, so I'm looking at stuff to do in the city, which is cheap, cause we're poor!

Pompeii aside. I found like 2 moving boxes full of clothes like a week ago beside the dumpster in front of my appartment, and it contained like 9 pairs of shoes in my size, PLUS a LOT of clothes from stores and brands normally too expensive for me to buy from, so I'm extatic!! even though, I went and bought these shoes fro H&M because I totally fell in LOOOVE with them!

the new new shoes <3 <3

These next days, I'm gonna work on the introduction magazine for the new students, so we won't get behind when I leave for ITALIA!!!!

Back to life!

I've been in this confused state of mind the last 4 months. I broke up with my boyfriend in December, but we're still seeing each other. Oh well, the situation is complicated.

(me and my x at our one month day 1st of April 2008)
Anyways, I kinda got what I wanted from the breakup - more time to focus on ME and what I really want to spend my time on. I've gotten my priorities straight (almost ^^) and I'm full of new energy.

ATM I've got two classes a week, one is "mesoamerican culture history" and "classical archaeological science theory". It only fills up 4 hours a week, so I've got some spare time that I need to fill up (Of course there's a lot of reading outside of class).
(temple from mesoamerica)

Once again I've taken on the assignment of tutoring the new students after the summer vacation, introducing them to campus, and their new life as university students. This time I'm well prepared and our team (three people) is already planning stuff. ^^

(me, when I was a freshman in 2009)

I just received a new charger for my camera, so now I'm ready to take pics again - the camera in my very smart smart-phone hasn't got shake control, so it's no good!

This was a little update post from my life, next up is my hama beads creations AKA perler!!!

friends make you relax!

-Random I know - but pretty cool!
(I borrowed the armor from my bf Søren and lent it to them ;p)

I had my 3 best girl friends from elementary school over for dinner last night. I'm always busy when I'm studying, but I've decided to take more time for friends and hobbies - AND! I realized, that seeing my friends and taking a time of from the bad conscience, makes me feel
better (dooh - I know)

The cool floor from the scouts cabin that we spend the weekend in, at the intro trip.

me when I'm not doing my hair ^^

rage!: my phone takes crappy pictures when the daylight has gone.. It's VERY frustraiting and it's even the new sony ericsson xperia x10 mini >:( beh
I want a camera...

Anyways, we had a great time, and I even did all the dishes before I went to bed = even better!!

I'm writing my Colosseum assignment, and I need to do a 1½ hour presentation next Thursday -- I started It like.... today. BUT! I work my best under pressure, and i always live up to my own and my professor's expectations. it'll be fiiiine - i guess.

nails in black/pink theme - so nice! and an outfit I wore today + an outfitt I wore some days ago

I can't wea
r my nails long atm, because I'm working so much, but I just got new nailtips and glue, so I'm ON! I also need some vitamins for my nails, they are so frakin frail... It sucks, they are never in perfect condition... >:(

I got a photo taken at a photo shop because of the pasport rules. 85 DKK... and 600 DKK for the new passport X( DAMN! But I'm goin' to Italy on a study trip from 8th October to the 17th, so I really had to get it, since I lost my pas port some time ago when my purse was stolen in a bar...

- I was just told that it's like 27 degrees (celsius) down there !! YAY !! 1½ extra weeks of summer! here at home it's just below 15 degrees now, and thats like mittens and fluffy hat weather.

Some ear pins and a long colorfull owl necklace! yay, the tail isn't in this photo :(

I got a lot of new stuff that I'm gonna post next time :D C ya!

Crazy freshmen intro week! + 2 outfit

It's been so long since I last had time to sit down and write. Well! I'm a tutor for the new students at classical archeology at the university, so I've been partying a bit and working a LOT!

It has been great fun, and the 15 new student a all very nice and cool! We had a toga party where I was dressed up as NIKE the goddess of victory, and that came out really satisfying. I only had 1 night to make it, so I made it really kinda simple, but great looking imo. ^^ wish I had a pic here - still waiting on the girl who took it to upload it to fb :P
Here's an outfit I wore one of the intro days.

I practiced curling my hair with my straitening iron, by pulling the hair slowly through the straightening iron with a slight bend, it makes perfect big wavy curls. I LOVE IT!

I don't own a great palette of makeup yet, so it's quite simple, but nice, and I'm wearing lashes for one of the first times on a weekday! The confidence is impenetrable!!

My favorite outfit yet! New baseball jacket from MONKI, got it for 80 DKK! and the hair bow, also from monki, for 10 DKK. I just feel cute and awesome wearing this!

simple nails, didn't have much time .

This is all for now! gotta do a big assignment on the Colosseum of Rome, LOOKIN FORWARD . but it's hard work - 3 weeks until it's due.

Now the fall/winter collections are coming to the stores ! I wanna find the PERFECT jacket, and by myself a hat ^^ Monki is one of my new favorite stores!

Nail BLING

I just received these things in the mail today!!

SRY for the crappy pics. It was night time, so I only had a lamp.

I've gotten really into the nail bling, and I bought some rhinestones on ebay. The seller "glamlabel" has a wide selection of rhinestones and false nail products ^^. They also had some cheap eyelashes, so I figured I'd try them out.

I'm really happy with my purchase and It didn't take long for the package to arrive either! I'm still on the simple designs but I'm looking forward to have a little more freedom with all the stones - I belive there are 3500 pieces YAY! In many different colors and 3 different sizes.

There are 10 pairs of lashes, and the even included a small glue **free of charge** lovely <3

These are dotting pens with different size globular tips. You can draw a bit with them, but I need to practice ^^

I did my first try with a simple blue and dark purple theme.

I've tryed nail tips with gel and activator spray before. It was pretty good, but I'm not used to long nails (my own are to brittle to grow much before they brake), and I do work alot where i have to use my hands all the time, so the broke pretty fast...

I like the fact that longer nails make my hand look skinnier and more graceful than my usual "chubby" hand with short nails.

I've used all the nail tips, and shared with my sister, she bought more on ebay, at glamlabel as well..
and I'm looking forward to nail deco fun with my baby sister (she's 20 ;p)

I'm gonna try out gyaru makeup with the lashes soon ^^

Birthday party

It was my birthday the 12th of August!!! yay.... well. My mom was out camping with her boyfriend, so my boyfriends dad took my sister Anne, Søren my boyfriend, his sister Ditte and myself to Bakken, an amusementpark in Klampenborg - actually the oldest amusement park in the world !! WOW - or something.
My new leopard coat from H&M, it's rain proof and short sleeved ^^ I LOVE IT <3>

Anyways, I love that place, and insisted on going even though it was raining pretty hard - a great tryout for my new coat :p We just went for dinner and coffee and got home, but it was a great day.

I bought some clothes and shoes from H&M for myself - and felt good about it ^^ I got Sim's 3 from my boyfriend! yay! My mom is helping me out with the payment for my study trip in October, and thats a neat gift as well!

shoes, stone washed denim leggins and coat that I got for myself as a birthday present YAY!

I'm gonna throw myself a birthday party next month, I usually do, and it doesn't feel right that I haven't this year. -wishing for brighter weather~

New shoes from H&M. 180,- DKK
my favorite shoes!

First Aid course

This day started at 1 pm with a first aid course which is very important for us tutors to complete (only these 3 hours) so we're ready if an emergency happens at the freshmen trip that everyone's of to at the beginning of september.

after a bit of theory, it was our turn to practise with the dolls. Each of us picked up a rubber face and some lungs (plastic bags for the dolls head) and went in to our groups.

The doll was kinda creepy, but we named him Eric and that made us a bit more comfortable with havin' him lyin' around all torso-ish and shiny.

Actually Eric and I got very close at the end. I saved his life 3 times, and he was very appreciative and gave me a big ol' torso hug.

The guys from Aliento First Aid who taught us.

They where so fun and casual around the power point and included a lot of fun pics. they actually made First Aid a lot more approachable and I feel that I can make a difference in an emergency situation.

Genki con 2010

So I just got through a weekend of Genki con in Copenhagen. I went to see a few panels and the cosplay shows of course. I enjoyed seeing all the people I know from this hobby there and sharing a geeky time with everyone.Me cosplaying Ai Amano from Video Girl Ai at the con Saturday.

I wore some cosplays that I made a while ago. I chose these two because I haven't worn them to conventions much. I actually feel a little guilty that I didn't try harder to get a new cosplay done in time for the con, I just never took the time to plan and save money for it properly.

This pic is not from the con, I didn't yet find the one photo someone took of me in this. I wore this Sunday where it was VERY rainy... so I went home quick.

It was more spontaneous to make cosplay when I stayed at my mom's and didn't have to worry about bills and stuff at the same time, now I can't just go out and buy all the materials at once, I have to plan out the costs of stuff and start months in advance.

I've been wanting to make Yoko from Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann for a while now, and I really like the time skip version which is a bit more covered up than the regular version.

Well, I am looking forward to creating cosplay again soon, If I start now I know I'm able to get it ready for j-popcon at November!

These cons always gives me the passion back when I've been away from the manga/animé stuff for a while. But right now I have to concentrate on the new students at classical archaeology who two other students and myself are going to take care of the first weeks of their time on campus, so the final planning processes are kinda filling up my schedule these days.

goin' to bed !
